A guide to Sydney’s indie record stores by Sydney’s indie record stores. You can download the map, complete with walking tour route suggestions, or find printed versions in all the listed stores and surrounding shops and cafes. Of course, the experience doesn’t  just stop at the boundaries of our map, so use this guide as a place to start and then keep hunting off the beaten path, because that’s where all the action happens.

Diggin’ Sydney has arrived, almost!

Posted By admin on April 18th, 2017

It’s almost time! The maps have been loaded on the trucks and are in transit, the website has been updated with all the new stores and usual essential digging tips, and 33 record stores around the Sydney Metropolitan area are feverishly preparing for Record Store Day on Saturday April 22. This year’s map is the fifth edition of Diggin’ Sydney and features some new great stores, along with all our old favourites. We’re also excited to have Audio Technica as our partner in 2017. Without their support this project would not be possible.

New maps should be available later tomorrow, especially from the CDB shops and Record Store in Darlinghurst. You can get the jump on the Record Store Day crowds by checking the the online  Store Guide right now. The online Store Guide also contains some sneaky store listings we just couldn’t fit into the printed map. Get amongst it!

Diggin’ Sydney and Record Store Day

Posted By admin on April 13th, 2016

The new Diggin’ Sydney Map hits the streets of Sydney today. Pick up yours from any good Record Store and selected street press outlets. Pick up one for a friend while you’re at it! 33 awesome stores in total – spanning Greater Sydney from Town Hall to Katoomba, and beyond. The website and store guide have also been updated to include all the new info and listings.

It is of course Record Store Day this Saturday, April 16. Make your sure you’re out there supporting independent record stores, local musicians and small business. Think twice before you set foot in any chain stores; independent record stores can only survive as long as you continue to support them.

Big thanks to Audio Technica for their support this year, and a massive shout out to Stephan G. from Record Store for all his efforts in making Diggin’ Sydney a reality again this year. Slap him a high-five next time you see him 😉

Posted By Stephan G on March 28th, 2014

The day of the Record Store is coming & we want YOU to come party!

‘This is a day for the people who make up the world of the record store—the staff, the customers, and the artists—to come together and celebrate the unique culture of a record store…’

We’ll have stacks of Record Store Day special releases, ‘hidden’giveaways, a chance to win an incredible oil-painting valued at $900, free play on the jukebox, drink specials & guest DJ’s!

This year we’re sleeping in & staying up late. The store & bar will be open from midday until 1am, and we’ll have two batches of exclusive RSD vinyl releases (noon & 3pm – so please, no fighting).

Come down, let’s celebrate!
